Job Summary

KBR is seeking an experienced Business Operations Coordinator to serve as a strategic business operations professional supporting a senior leader at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This position performs advanced administrative and operational work directly related to the management and general business operations of the organization and requires the consistent exercise of discretion, independent judgment, and analytical decision-making on matters of significance.

The Business Operations Coordinator serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing operational analysis, strategic planning support, business process evaluation, and recommendations that influence organizational effectiveness, mission execution, and resource utilization. The incumbent independently identifies operational risks and opportunities, develops solutions to complex business challenges, and coordinates initiatives across multiple functional areas.

This role requires a highly analytical and self-directed professional capable of operating with minimal supervision, managing competing priorities, interpreting organizational objectives, and making recommendations that impact executive decision-making and business outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze organizational operations, business processes, and strategic priorities to identify operational risks, efficiency opportunities, and recommended courses of action for leadership consideration.
  • Exercise independent judgment in establishing priorities, determining workflow processes, and coordinating operational activities in support of organizational objectives.
  • Evaluate the status, effectiveness, and performance of key initiatives, programs, and projects; identify barriers to execution; and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Develop operational assessments, executive briefings, strategic reports, performance metrics, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
  • Research, analyze, interpret, and synthesize information from diverse sources to provide leadership with actionable recommendations and business insights.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of organizational reporting processes, dashboards, metrics, and tracking systems used to monitor performance and support strategic objectives.
  • Assess organizational processes for effectiveness, consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency; recommend and implement improvements where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and business requirements.
  • Independently evaluate incoming actions, assignments, and correspondence, determining priorities, routing requirements, and appropriate responses based on organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and review executive-level correspondence, reports, briefing materials, presentations, and recommendations requiring interpretation of policy, business objectives, and operational impacts.
  • Analyze organizational trends, performance indicators, and operational data to support planning, forecasting, and leadership decision-making.
  • Provide strategic coordination of leadership meetings, conferences, and engagements, including agenda development, action-item management, issue resolution, and follow-through on assigned initiatives.
  • Evaluate travel requirements and related regulatory considerations, ensuring compliance with applicable organizational and governmental policies while supporting mission requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of organizational records, program documentation, and information management systems to ensure operational continuity, compliance, and accessibility.
  • Anticipate leadership requirements by proactively identifying information needs, conducting research, and developing recommendations for executive consideration.
  • Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning efforts, organizational initiatives, and operational improvement activities that support business objectives and mission success.
  • Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned in support of organizational objectives, mission requirements, and leadership priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of relevant operational, business, or executive support experience; OR equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing operational issues and developing recommendations that support organizational objectives.
  • Experience supporting senior executives within Army, DoD, or federal civilian organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and business reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in addressing complex operational issues.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for results.

  • Extensive experience supporting executive leadership in military, federal, or defense-industry environments.
  • Knowledge of senior-level staff operations, military protocols, and organizational governance processes.
