About the role

The position is primarily responsible for leading the delivery of security services across a diverse portfolio of clients in NSW. Reporting to a State Operations Manager, this is a senior operational leadership role with accountability for service delivery, client relationships, workforce performance, safety, compliance, profitability and sustainable growth. You will lead through a strong management team, maintain a visible presence with clients and employees, and translate contractual commitments into consistent, commercially sound operational outcomes.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of security services across a multi-site client portfolio.
  • Ensure contractual service levels, customer expectations and operational standards are consistently achieved.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, resolve issues early and continuously improve service delivery.
  • Lead, coach and develop managers, coordinators, supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Build an engaged, accountable and high-performing workforce.
  • Manage workforce planning and cost-effective rostering, including leave, overtime, training and non-billable time.
  • Maintain service coverage while supporting employee safety and wellbeing.
  • Manage portfolio performance through budgeting, P&L analysis, accurate invoicing, cost control and revenue protection.
  • Identify and convert growth opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Support new customer acquisition and contribute to proposals, quotations and tender submissions.
  • Oversee employee performance and conduct matters in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Apply relevant Awards, enterprise agreements, company policies and procedural fairness.
  • Ensure compliance with security licensing, contractual obligations, the MSS Security Code of Ethics and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion health, safety, wellbeing and environmental performance through proactive risk management.
  • Use contemporary systems and operational data to monitor performance and maintain accurate records, including Workday, Workforce, Elumina and ISOPro.

Skills & experience

  • Substantial experience leading multi-site operations and large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Previous experience within security or a comparable labour-intensive service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client contracts, service delivery, financial performance and operational risk.
  • The ability to interpret P&L reports and turn commercial insights into practical action.
  • Strong business development capability, including identifying growth opportunities and contributing to proposals, quotations or tenders.
  • Experience managing performance, conduct and Industrial Relations matters under relevant Awards and/or enterprise agreements.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, influencing and conflict-resolution skills.
  • The confidence to hold courageous conversations and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong digital capability across Microsoft Office and operational platforms.
  • A current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights.
  • Experience using Workday, Workforce, Elumina and ISOPro will be highly regarded.
  • A current NSW Security Licence is desirable. The successful candidate must be willing and eligible to obtain one if required after commencing.
  • The successful candidate must also be willing to complete a National Police Check and any other role-specific or client-required pre-employment screening.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or a Certificate III or IV in Security Operations are desirable but not essential.
