This role will sit in the COO – APAC team which is responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction of the region. The office will liaise with all relevant stakeholders to create, implement, and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the region. It will design and implement management information to provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the region and create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes.

Role Summary

The Business Manager, APAC is a leadership role responsible for driving growth, enabling strategic change, and strengthening execution across the APAC region.

The role acts as a trusted partner to the COO – APAC, translating strategy into action by shaping priorities, leading complex change initiatives, and embedding scalable operating models that support sustainable growth.

This position combines strategic planning, business management, and transformation delivery, with a strong focus on improving how the region operates as it grows.

Importantly this role requires versatility covering complicated matters at depth whilst ensuring to step back and take a strategic high level view. Ability to influence and delegate to other functions is a must.

All employees are expected to understand and comply with any Sarbanes Oxley operational requirements relevant to their role.

Overall Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Business Enablement

  • Partner with the COO – APAC to define, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives that support revenue growth, new business activity, and regional expansion
  • Act as a central point of coordination across front office, operations, finance, risk, legal, and technology to remove barriers to growth
  • Support evaluation and execution of new business initiatives, partnerships, and market entry opportunities

Business Management & Execution

  • Translate strategic priorities into clear plans, milestones, and outcomes, ensuring disciplined execution
  • Establish and maintain robust management information and performance dashboards to track progress and impact
  • Identify execution risks early and work proactively with stakeholders to resolve them

Culture & Ways of Working

  • Promote a high performance, collaborative culture across functions
  • Encourage continuous improvement, intellectual curiosity, and pragmatic problem solving
  • Act as a role model for Marex values and conduct standards
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships across APAC and with global teams
  • Support regulatory, legal entity, and control initiatives, including legal entity rationalization and clearing memberships, where relevant

  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF, AFM, MAS 
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.

  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
  • The Company may require you to carry out other duties from time to time

  • Significant experience in Business Management, COO, Strategy, or Transformation roles within Financial Services

  • Strong understanding of how growth, controls, and operational scalability intersect
  • Experience working with senior executives and influencing without direct authority
  • Highly commercial, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands on execution
  • Strong program and change management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast paced, evolving environment
  • University degree required
