The Business Intelligence Team Leader role spearheads the transformation of our Business Intelligence team. Based in Hong Kong, you will lead a dynamic BI team responsible for transforming data into actionable business insights that drive strategic and operational decisions. As a key leader, you will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to enhance data utilization, improve data quality, and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the BI team in designing, delivering, and maintaining advanced reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Qlik Cloud, Power BI, or similar), ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic objectives.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define BI strategies, prioritize data initiatives, and translate business requirements into impactful analytics solutions.
Oversee end-to-end business intelligence projects, managing timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
Provide mentorship and guidance to BI team members, fostering skill development, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Partner with the Data team to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability for timely and reliable reporting.
Drive the adoption of BI tools by developing best practices, providing training, and empowering business users to leverage insights effectively.
Champion data governance and quality initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to establish standards and processes that enhance data reliability.
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging BI technologies, recommending innovative solutions to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data management; experience in supply chain management is a plus.
Agile Project Management Experience: Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) is a strong advantage, with a proven ability to facilitate iterative delivery and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar; experience with Qlik Cloud or Qlik Sense is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
Leadership or team management experience is a plus; candidates should demonstrate the potential to lead and inspire a team effectively.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on translating data into business value.
Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; fluency in Cantonese is an advantage.
Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and drive innovation within the team.
Demonstrated expertise in project management, with a focus on delivering BI projects on time and within scope.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across business and technical teams to drive alignment and results.
