Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Senior Specialist to join the Data platform team at MeDirect, which forms part of the Technology department. The team is focused on enabling the bank to enhance customer experience and make the right business decisions through the provision of timely and actionable insight as well as supporting the bank to fulfil its regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
The Business Intelligence (BI) Senior Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders to perform complex data analysis create dashboards and reports using QlikSense and NPrinting. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will manage and support the data pipelines (Azure Data Factory) and data warehouse (Snowflake).

Duties and responsibilities:
- Delivering high quality data products to end users
- Designing, building and deploying BI solutions and data pipelines
- Performing complex data analysis and creating performant and visually appealing documents and dashboards
- Optimising and upgrading of existing data solutions and pipelines
- Defining and implementing best practices for developing Qlik solutions
- Mentoring junior team members as may be relevant
- Researching new techniques and methods to improve existing processes
- Other duties as may be directed by the Head of the team
- 24x7 support on Customer Impacting and Regulatory issues
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT/Finance-related subject or 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills and SQL knowledge
- Demonstrated experience with building performant Qlik solutions with efficient associative models and complex data loading scripts
- Ability to debug Qlik dashboards/documents as well as complex SQL queries
- Good grasp of dimensional data modelling and schema design
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar platforms
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or similar platforms
- Basic knowledge of windows server operating system (security/networking/web servers/batch scripting)
- Proficient in the use of collaborative and DataOps tools (GitLab, Jira, Confluence)
- Self-driven and proactive approach towards given tasks and learning
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Experience within a financial institution and understanding of financial products is highly desirable
- Experience with Statistical models
- Experience with Python
