The Impact you will have in this role:
The Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for building data pipelines using their deep knowledge of Talend, SQL and Data Analysis on the bespoke Snowflake data warehouse for Business Intelligence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Talend development, data integration, and data warehousing.
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing and supporting data warehouse environments in production.
Talents Needed for Success:
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Talend ETL/ELT solutions and data integration processes across CLAW applications.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines integrating multiple source systems into Snowflake and other target platforms.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Talend jobs, Snowflake processes, and data pipelines to ensure operational stability and performance.
- Manage production support activities, including incident resolution, change management, and problem management in accordance with ITIL processes and established SLAs.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams while following DTCC SDLC and release management practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, data mappings, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Support user onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer activities.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and performance optimization across data integration and reporting solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Talend ETL/ELT tools and data warehousing concepts.
- Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Experience with Snowflake and modern data warehousing architectures, including ELT/ETL methodologies.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
- Experience with source code repositories such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Experience implementing CI/CD deployment processes using Jenkins.
- Ability to analyze, tune, and optimize ETL jobs, data pipelines, and database queries for scalability and performance.
- Experience with data validation, testing, and reconciliation processes.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating environments.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with JIRA and release management processes.
- Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly adopt new technologies and tools.
