The Role
The Business Insights Manager conducts analysis and provides strategic insights to guide decision-making, integrating market, financial, and operational data to inform commercial strategies.
Summary Generated by Built In

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? Well, we pump peanut butter into your jar, and the oil in your car. We glue the soles of your shoes, the glass in your windows and the screen on your phone. We spray the finish on your vehicle, coatings on your pills, the paint on your house and texture on your walls. Graco is part of your daily life.

The Business Insights Manager serves as both a handson analyst and a strategic consultant—personally driving rigorous analysis while elevating insights through collaboration, storytelling, and influence. This role blends strong data and research capabilities with business acumen to help leaders understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next.

This position goes beyond reporting to connect market, financial, and performance data; diagnose root causes; and partner with stakeholders to shape thoughtful, datainformed solutions. Success requires equal strength in doing the work and guiding decisionmaking through insight, context, and narrative.

What You Will Do at Graco

Business and Market Understanding

  • Develop a strong understanding of Graco’s business, customers, competitive landscape, and strategic priorities.

  • Monitor market trends, industry dynamics, economic conditions, regulatory changes, global user behaviors, and mega trends.

  • Integrate external market signals with internal performance and financial data to form a holistic business perspective.

  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and inflection points that inform commercial and strategic decisions.

Insights, Diagnosis & Decision Support

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to uncover patterns, performance drivers, and root causes.

  • Synthesize insights across market, customer, financial, and operational data into clear, cohesive narratives.

  • Partner closely with crossfunctional stakeholders to socialize findings, test assumptions, and validate insights.

  • Pressuretest conclusions to ensure insights reflect real business context, not just the data in isolation.

  • Translate ambiguity into practical implications, scenarios, and decisionready recommendations.

  • Develop forecasts and predictive views to support planning and strategic tradeoffs.

  • Apply advanced analytics, AI tools, and taskspecific agents to accelerate analysis and surface insights.

Business Partnership & Storytelling

  • Act as a trusted thought partner—helping leaders frame the right questions, not just respond to requests.

  • Balance handson analysis with consultative influence to guide strategic discussions.

  • Clearly articulate the “so what,” implications, risks, and recommended actions behind insights.

  • Challenge assumptions constructively and reframe problems when insights suggest alternative paths.

  • Translate complex analysis into executiveready stories, dashboards, and visualizations.

  • Facilitate alignment with leaders on insights, implications, and next steps.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring to Graco

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in business insights, market research, analytics, strategy, or decision support roles.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand context, priorities, and tradeoffs.

  • Demonstrated ability to connect dots, diagnose root causes, and translate ambiguity into clear recommendations.

  • Proficiency in analytics, research tools, and statistical methods.

  • Experience applying AI tools and building taskspecific agents to enhance insight generation and decision support.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence through insights and storytelling.

  • Comfort working with imperfect data and applying sound judgment.

  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills in a multistakeholder environment.

Accelerators

  • Global industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge.

  • MBA or Master’s degree.
