Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a business partner to the relevant business manager and lead local finance teams to optimize the financial performance for Japanese business including the Mishima Plant. Each day, you will support effective business decisions by monitoring, analysing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate various business alternatives. You will also showcase your expertise by recommending the most appropriate business solutions.
Location: Tokyo, Japan.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Division, Energy Industries Business Area and the Country functions in Japan. Main stakeholders are Hub Controller, Local Division Manager, business managers, Japan Country Holding Officer and country functions, and global finance colleagues.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Driving the definition and implementation of global standards and business-specific guidelines to ensure continuous improvement in financial control process within your area of responsibility.
- Leading, providing guidance, and facilitating best practices to ensure alignment and consistency of controlling practices.
- Ensuring timely and efficient communication with relevant internal customers to identify and discuss issues for improvement of operations, work quality, and efficiency for your area of responsibility.
- Securing transparency and high quality in financial reporting and disclosure and business information.
- Driving appropriate cost structure and productivity optimization in collaboration with all stakeholders and in alignment with division strategy and local management.

Qualifications for the role
- You are highly skilled in financial controlling, reporting, and business partnering within the industrial automation/energy industries sector.
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in business planning, forecasting, and financial analysis, with 8+ years of experience in finance or controlling.
- Possess an enhanced knowledge of SAP, SAP BW, and advanced Excel skills.
- You are passionate about collaboration, problem solving, and strategic thinking.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- You are at ease communicating in English.
- (Optional, if applicable) You hold current CPA/CA qualification valid in Japan.
