BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding and are seeking a driven, sales-focused Business Events Manager to join our team.
About the role
In this role, you’ll take charge of planning and executing a range of corporate events and conferences designed to enhance engagement and awareness with potential clients. Your focus will be on outreach to potential delegates, vendors, sponsors, and speakers, as you lead efforts to attract great speakers, sponsors and seats filled for these events. You’ll play a key role in helping drive further growth by overseeing a full calendar of events, securing sponsorships, meeting attendance, and ensuring the overall success of these efforts.
This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Manage sales by reaching out directly to potential attendees, showcasing the value and excitement of our events.
- Develop tailored sales pitches, emails, and presentations that resonate with prospects.
- Attract vendors and sponsors by selling tradeshow booths and sponsorship packages.
- Sell top-tier speakers on participating in our events, negotiating arrangements that align with our goals.
- Collaborate with our marketing team to create impactful events (large and small) that generate buzz and increase engagement.
- Coordinate logistics for all events, ensuring seamless execution.
- Developing event sponsorship strategies and securing sponsorships.
- Building relationships with potential speakers and event partners.

- Have a proven track record in event sales, sponsorship acquisition, or similar roles.
- Are skilled at building relationships, negotiations, and closing deals.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where your creativity and initiative shine.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to craft compelling pitches and presentations.
- Have experience planning, promoting, or selling events from the ground up.
- Exhibit strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Can work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Are innovative, creative, and open to new ideas.
- Thrive in a busy environment
- Consistently maintain a positive attitude
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in B2B sales, particularly within the events or conference space.
- A creative mindset that helps you identify unique sponsorship opportunities and partnership strategies.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tactics and tools that drive event sales.
