We’re looking for a Business Development Representative I who is ready to build foundational sales skills, engage high-potential prospects, and contribute directly to Vendasta’s expanding global channel partner ecosystem.
About the Job:

As a Business Development Representative on the Acquisition team, your mission is to fuel pipeline growth by identifying and qualifying prospective SMB-focused channel partners through structured outbound outreach and responsive inbound engagement. You will kickstart the sales process by delivering relevant messaging, conducting early discovery, providing introductory platform walkthroughs, and booking high-quality product demos for the Account Executive team.

At this entry level, success comes from consistency, coachability, and strong execution of repeatable workflows. You’ll build foundational prospecting skills while using team-developed tools—including generative AI prompts—to support email creation, call preparation, and objection handling. This role is ideal for self-starters eager to grow in SaaS sales, develop industry knowledge, and make a meaningful impact on Vendasta’s revenue engine.

Your Impact:

As a Business Development Representative, you will:

  • Proactively source and qualify potential channel partners through outbound outreach (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, etc.).
  • Follow up promptly on inbound leads from marketing channels such as webinars, gated content, and trial signups.
  • Use pre-built AI prompts and sales enablement tools to personalize messaging and generate outreach content, including call scripts and email templates.
  • Schedule high-quality discovery meetings and demos for Account Executives that match Vendasta’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Conduct initial conversations to understand prospect business models, challenges, and readiness to adopt Vendasta’s platform.
  • Apply guided qualification criteria to determine product-market fit and route leads to the appropriate sales motion.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed CRM records to support reporting, handoffs, and pipeline progression.
  • Manage daily prospecting activity, including calls, emails, and social Selling efforts. Participate in call coaching, team huddles, enablement sessions, and retrospective reviews to continuously improve.
  • Collaborate with AEs and Marketing teams to refine messaging, identify conversion trends, and optimize outreach strategies.
  • Maintain clean, consistent documentation and lead status updates in Salesforce.

What you bring to the table:

  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or a related role; SaaS experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields preferred (not required).
  • Clear, professional communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow structured prospecting workflows and improve using AI-generated scripts and coaching.
  • Coachability, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback and mentorship.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage daily activity in a fast-paced, quota-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), email sequencing tools, and basic sales engagement platforms.
  • Experience with LinkedIn and social prospecting methods.
  • Exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) for writing support or call preparation is a plus.
