The Business Development Representative role focuses on developing relationships and establishing opportunities to grow the Life Sciences pipeline leading to increased sales. This is a “hunter” sales position.
Responsibilities• Revenue Growth:
Outreach and qualification of opportunities that are shared with the Directors of Business Development leading to increased sales. Also responsible for managing, building relationships, and closing business with smaller to mid-sized accounts/partnerships.
• Sales Strategy and Business Development:
Outreach and prospecting with a goal of providing qualified leads to Directors that lead to reaching budget/sales quotas. Additionally, own small to mid-sized accounts and carry their own quota. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting, presenting solutions and capabilities, generating pricing and proposals, pipeline management, and managing engagements.
• CRM Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the CRM system. Build and maintain both internal and external stakeholder relationships inclusive of cultivating partnership relationships to upsell accounts with additional product and services.
• Collaboration:
Work with sales leaders and extended sales team, marketing, delivery and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication to initiatives that drive awareness of capabilities and offerings.
• Market Intelligence:
Be aware of and stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to most effectively position our solutions.
Required Work Experience:
- 2+ years of successful Business Development experience in a “hunting” capacity in the healthcare and life sciences industry. Demonstrated ability to build pipeline and attain sales quota.
Preferred Work Experience:
- 2 or more years of experience in pharma RWD and analytics solutions space.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance, data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and data usage rights.
-Experience working with industry partners in a business development capacity.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer.
Technical /Job Specific Knowledge:
• RWD Experience – Experience in RWD solutions in healthcare and life sciences field.
• Sales Knowledge: Understanding of sales processes, customer behavior, and pricing techniques.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other data analysis tools.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Business Development Skills: Ability to prospect for new business/partners but also to grow existing relationships.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
• Data Management: Proficiency in using CRM systems and other data management tools.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve problems related to sales processes and pricing strategies.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Analytics or related fields.
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Analytics or related fields.
