Job Description

Our Shanghai Architecture team is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team. 

What you’ll do

  • Possess extensive and diversified experience, with strong capabilities and in-depth knowledge of marketing and business development principles and practices.
  • Develop and execute effective capture strategies, lead profitable pursuits, and drive expansion of market share and top-line revenue growth for AECOM’s Architecture Practice Line.

  • Demonstrate advanced relationship-building capabilities with external clients, while fostering strong collaboration with internal business and practice leaders across disciplines, business lines, and geographies to support profitable growth and financial success.

  • Operate independently to achieve overall business development objectives, consistently meeting or exceeding annual capture targets for the Architecture Practice Line.

  • Lead, develop, and guide new project opportunities to ensure sustained revenue generation and long-term profitability for the business.

  • Apply significant prior experience in supporting proposal development, including strategic pricing decisions to enhance competitiveness and win rates.

  • Establish and maintain strong networks with senior practice leaders and designers, effectively influencing, negotiating, and resolving critical business issues to drive successful outcomes./LP

Qualifications

Meet the requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, Business, or a closely related field required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience; industry experience in engineering, architecture, or landscape design is highly preferred.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated professional with a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong communication skills with full professional proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
