Company Description

At Schréder, we’ve been illuminating cities, industries, and communities for over a century. As pioneers in smart, sustainable lighting, our technology powers safer streets, efficient infrastructure, and vibrant public spaces in more than 71 countries.

With sustainability at the heart of everything we do, we’re helping the world transition to smarter, greener urban ecosystems—reducing energy use, cutting carbon emissions, and protecting what matters most.

Be part of our mission to transform how the world lights up—creating solutions that strengthen communities, support the planet, and shape the future of intelligent lighting.

Job Description

We’re looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join our high-growth Linear Lighting Division, specialising in bespoke, design-led solutions for major commercial and infrastructure projects.

If you're stuck in a role with limited growth, restricted territory, or repetitive product lines—this is your chance to move into a space where your projects are bigger, your influence is stronger, and your work becomes something you’ll actually see in the real world.

You’ll work closely with Engineers, Architects, Lighting Designers, Specifiers, Contractors, Developers and End-users, supported by an in-house team of lighting designers, engineers, and technical experts who elevate your credibility and help you win.

This division is expanding rapidly. The right person will have genuine future opportunities to grow into Senior BDM, Key Account Manager, or Segment Specialist roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of commercial, public, and infrastructure lighting projects across NSW.

  • Target key segments such as Education, Health, Infrastructure, and large-scale developments.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and project handover.

  • Collaborate with internal design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality tailored solutions.

  • Strengthen relationships with architects, specifiers, engineers, contractors, and councils.

  • Represent the company at meetings, site visits, and industry events.

  • Maintain structured CRM records and provide insight into market trends and opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who wants more—more growth, more responsibility, more exciting projects.

  • A proactive BDM who loves being on the road and building client relationships.

  • A problem-solver with a consultative, solutions-focused sales approach.

  • A team player who collaborates well with technical specialists.

  • Someone who takes pride in seeing their projects come to life in public spaces.

What We Offer

  • A strong pathway to future senior roles as the division grows.

  • Exposure to high-value, bespoke lighting solutions—not commodity products.

  • Backed by a Tier 1 national brand with local manufacturing.

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team evolving toward smart lighting & controls.

  • Competitive salary + bonus structure.

  • Flexible work arrangements and autonomy to build your territory.

  • Health & wellbeing support, additional leave benefits, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Currently working in the lighting or electrical industry (2+ years preferred).

  • Ready to step up into larger, more strategic project work.

  • Confident meeting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Able to understand drawings, technical specs, and project requirements (training provided).

  • Strong communicator, relationship builder, and natural presenter.

  • Driven, ambitious, and keen to grow into a senior role over time.

  • Full working rights in Australia.
