Business Development Manager, SaaS Solutions

Are you a growth-driven Business Development Manager, SaaS Solutions who thrives on opening new markets, building first-time partnerships, and turning white space into revenue?

Join us as a Business Development Manager dedicated to white space growth. In this role, you will identify, validate, and open net-new revenue streams across untapped markets, segments, and accounts. You’ll own the full discovery and incubation cycle—from market mapping, prospecting, and building executive relationships to crafting tailored value propositions and securing first wins.

You will partner closely with marketing and sales leadership, to translate insights into scalable go-to-market plays, establish repeatable pipelines, and set the foundation for long-term, high-value partnerships in entirely new areas for our business.

This role will be based in Sydney.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Business Development Manager, SaaS Solutions​ you will:

  • Own a new sales software target for new business across the ANZ market

  • Build on expert knowledge to target client base, recognize client needs and propose solutions.

  • Generate new business opportunities and closures in white space, by taking qualified leads from multiple sources including prospectors and self-identified leads over the telephone.

  • Prospect and demonstrate Thomson Reuters’ capability to new customers, develop proposals, negotiate contracts and ultimately close new business

  • Major emphasis on opening new business with new customers.

  • Ensure the effective handover of accounts to Client /Strategic Account Management including transition meetings and provide feedback from the customer to business segments

  • Build knowledge of competition, maintain accurate customer contact and opportunity data in Salesforce, and conduct win/loss analysis plus maintain strong awareness of the external market, to identify business opportunities.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Business Development Manager, SaaS Solutions if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional field sales or SaaS business development role 

  • Experience selling into the finance and tax sectors is preferred.

  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets

  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, presentation and consultative sales skills 

  • Customer centric approach 

  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities in white space 

  • Ability to partner effectively with the wider sales team and internal stakeholders
