ROLE

Motivated and results-driven, The Business Development Manager reports to the Head of Growth, North America and is responsible for the generation, acquisition and conversion of net new business opportunities. You will work collaboratively across teams to shape solutions, pitch Sid Lee’s offering, and help drive revenue growth by converting qualified leads into long-term client partnerships. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participating in new business efforts, developing prospects and closing net new opportunities, including researching, prospecting, professional networking and referrals in key markets (Canada and USA);
  • Collaborating with strategy, creative, and project delivery teams to craft tailored solutions and respond to RFPs;
  • Proactively facilitating new business opportunities for the agency with existing clients through relationship building and opportunity spotting;
  • Organizing and following-up with potential opportunities;
  • Creating, engaging and finalizing new relationships, leading prospective clients into kicking off new projects (determining project goals, services, and budgets);
  • Achieving sales and profit objectives set forth, delivering revenue growth goals established in conjunction with senior leadership;
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of important markets and industry trends;
  • Actively participate in the business community, industry events, charitable events, professional and trade organizations, and other networking forums; 
  • Leveraging insights into potential clients to create connections and gain visibility;
  • Building enduring relationships and engaging the right influencers, thought leaders, and key potential clients in your market for future referral possibilities (participating in their meetings and events, give presentations, and contribute valuable insights);
  • Tracking & optimizing conversion performance while maintaining best-practices to meet performance targets;
  • Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the offering and identifying ways to penetrate new markets;
  • Mobilizing the right agency team members to optimize opportunities;
  • Debriefing teams on wins and losses;
  • Managing select inbound RFPs;
  • Develop and manage all aspects of Salesforce CRM, creating efficiency and visibility to the executive team and maintaining accurate database records and notes of all contact and interaction details.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years’ proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within a creative, digital, or agency environment;
  • A strong understanding of agency life and the pitch process;
  • An impressive, active, and developed business network;
  • Demonstrated success managing sales pipelines and closing business on mid-to-large scale projects;
  • Unparalleled business development skills with a proven track record of successful new client acquisition; 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to represent Sid Lee externally;
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Experience in preparing proposals, pitching solutions, and negotiating commercial terms;
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • The confidence and aptitudes to work alongside everyone in the organization, including the C-suite;
  • Enthusiasm, passion, and curiosity towards the creative industry;
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and standard sales reporting tools.
