About the Role
ICIS is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Sales team in Mexico City. In this individual contributor role, you will drive new business growth for our petrochemicals, energy, and commodity market intelligence solutions, working closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, engage prospective customers, and deliver value-based solutions. You will play a key role in expanding our presence across Latin America by building strong relationships, generating pipeline, and supporting customers through the sales cycle from prospecting to close.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business development for ICIS market intelligence solutions across petrochemical, energy, and commodity markets.
- Prospect, qualify, and build a pipeline through lead generation, cold calling, outbound sales activities, and consultative selling techniques.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers, including C-suite stakeholders, to uncover business challenges and create value-based solutions.
- Develop a systematic approach to progressing leads into qualified opportunities and new revenue-generating accounts.
- Maintain high-volume, high-quality engagement through phone, email, social media, onsite meetings, and relationship-building activities.
- Lead new customer acquisition by proactively identifying and developing opportunities across target industries and accounts.
- Partner with Account Managers and collaborate with business functions locally and globally to support growth and cross-sell initiatives.
- Apply a structured sales methodology, demonstrating curiosity, active listening, and strong discovery skills to understand customer needs.
- Maintain accurate activity tracking, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting through Salesforce and other platforms.
- Adapt strategies and priorities to meet changing market conditions, customer needs, and sales targets.

- 5+ years of experience in business development, prospecting, cold calling, and building sales pipelines from scratch.
- Willing to go to the office two to three times a week
- Demonstrated success in solution-based, consultative, or value-based sales environments.
- Strong new business acquisition mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and develop new accounts.
- Coachable, adaptable, and open to learning structured sales methodologies and new approaches.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and C-level executives.
