Job Description
The Business Development Manager – Japan is responsible for managing and coordinating overall business development functions and activities of Japanese Companies operating in Americas.
The Business Development Manager also identifies and establishes relationships with key accounts in the territory , as well as strategies that align with new customers in the region.
This positions requires achievement of specific new logo and new business growth and targets in the assigned trade lane.
- Responsible for regional business development and overseeing route sales to and from Japan. Coordinate all new business development within the region, develop sales leads and evaluate for business.
- Develop, coordinate and delivers route specific solutions for potential customers that import/export goods between Americas and Japan / Asia.
- Identifies target accounts and sales leads and creates marketing plans for business growth and development within Japan/ Asia and Americas.
- Meets specific net revenue goals and developed for the Japan market and defines business plans for the logistics industry between Americas and Japan / Asia.
- Meet sales expectations and promote overall route growth and new business development to enhance the profitability of the market between Americas and Japan / Asia.
- Identify opportunities to solicit new business and increase business revenue.
- Establish and maintain effective and respectful relationships with customers and provide outstanding customer service by having an account ownership mentality.
- Focus on account retention and seek opportunities to improve the account by being the primary responder to all customer issues and opportunities.
- Communicate with local team and oversees Japan/ Asia team regarding customers and reports on pending problems, or on evidence of competitors in customer locations.
- Act as liaison and communicate with Japan/Asia and Americas offices internally.

- Japanese / English bilingual skills
Additional Information
Based in any USA office
Expected base salary: $75,000 – $150,000
