As a Business Development Manager within Managed IT, you are responsible for successfully developing a new business pipeline and creating a prospect list to meet and exceed sales and profit targets, whilst focusing on four key areas; Cloud & Datacentre, Modern Workplace, Cyber Security and Managed Services.
Your role is to establish innovation, drive sales and ensure our valued clients receive industry leading expertise from our team of specialists. At Commercial, we achieve our vision by helping our clients to exceed theirs.
Your responsibilities as a Business Development Manager will be:
- Identify new business opportunities and develop a new business pipeline through a variety of channels such as cold calling, Linked In and social media.
- Identify current and prospective clients needs and how our wide range of products and services will benefit their business. This also includes Office Supplies, Print, Smart Technology, Managed Print Services, Interiors, PPE, Facilities and Workwear.
- Have a proactive approach to sales and consistently achieve your activity (new business appointment making) and sales targets.
- Arrange and facilitate site visits for existing and prospect customers to showcase Commercial’s offering.
- Work closely with the Sales Director and Solution Consulting team on all pricing and tender activity.
- Working closely with the internal Account Management team to ensure that customers are handed over smoothly with all their needs clearly communicated verbally and in writing and continue to support as necessary.
- Participate in weekly calling days to set up external face to face meetings.
- Update and maintain all records on prospects and new accounts in CRM.
- Maintain product and vendor training as well as relevant accreditations to ensure you maintain a sound knowledge of the technology marketplace, trends and innovative and transformative technologies.
- Successfully achieve personal KPI’s, goal-oriented objectives and work within our best practice sales frameworks.
About you:
- You have a keen interest in the IT industry and are looking to progress your career within a growing sales environment.
- A good technical knowledge including such technologies as IT infrastructure (servers, switching & storage), Microsoft stack including Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace & Azure, hosted cloud solutions, desktop and server virtualisation technologies, security, data & BCDR solutions.
- An understanding of IT support and maintenance services and how such services deliver business value.
- You have recent experience of working within a new business environment where sales targets are consistently being achieved or exceeded.
- You are a self-motivated individual that thrives within an environment where individual and team work is required.
- You demonstrate clear, professional and effective communication skills; both written and verbal.
- A proven track record of building long-lasting professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- The ability to adapt your approach to a wide range of clients across a variety of sectors.
- A positive attitude towards learning and developing both professionally and personally.
- It would be beneficial if you have experience working within the IT sector and/or have an IT qualification.

Skills Required
