Job Description:

Position Overview

We are seeking a well-rounded and customer-focused Business Development Manager to join our Edge AI Business Unit in EMEA. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Microchip’s Client Engagement team and our customers in EMEA, bridging the gap between each customer’s Edge AI needs and our technology portfolio.  You will also represent Microchip at industry events related to Edge AI and position Microchip as a thought leader in the territory.

You will communicate seamlessly with Client Engagement, customers, and Microchip business units.  You will discover new opportunities for Microchip and help the team drive them to Design Win and Revenue stages for the company.  You will communicate customers’ feedback to our business units to ensure that Microchip’s Edge AI solutions are aligned with market demands.  Your activity will drive Microchip’s success in Edge AI in the territory.  Key measurements will be customer visits, Edge AI demos, trade shows, funnel growth, Design Wins, and Revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales Support: Partner with sales teams in all regions of the EMEA territory to develop tailored Edge AI solution proposals, have customer discussions, and support the entire sales cycle.
  • Demo & Training Coordination: Organize and coordinate Edge AI solution demonstrations to customers and at events in the territory.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Engage with Client Engagement, customer contacts, BU Applications, BU Business Development, and BU Marketing to articulate the value and application of Edge AI solutions, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Roadmap Insight: Offer informed commentary on Microchip’s roadmap for hardware, software, tools, and services, helping customers understand how current and future offerings can address their challenges.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather customer feedback and relay insights to product and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pre-sales efforts or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, ML Dev Suite), edge computing platforms, and IoT architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers, business units, and marketing teams.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into actionable product direction and pre-sales efforts.
  • Ability to evaluate customer applications and RFPs, and assist Edge AI Applications in architecting solutions or proposal responses using a broad technology portfolio.
  • Familiarity with Microchip’s hardware, software, tools, and services is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel across Europe (up to 75%).
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
