Our business requires an outstanding individual to join us to be responsible for increasing the company’s market share.  Develop and execute pursuit strategies for high value infrared cameras. Lead the proposal process for all pursuits and support key customers by anticipating future customer requirements and needs to capture major programs. You will be working within a busy diverse Business Development Team as well as other departments such as product management, services, engineering, and compliance:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor in a collaborative global Business Development & Sales Team in executing TDY FLIR’s objectives worldwide for Airborne Defense products.

  • As well as covering the wider Defense portfolio in Poland and collaborating with the wider BDS Team to achieve successful revenue targets

  • Carry out regular analysis on market needs/competitive scenario and provide feedback to leadership

  • Promote, develop, and conclude sales of TDY FLIR Systems’ products into the end users’ market and/or assigned territory.

  • Manage the BD process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in Campaigns and Programs. Support operational execution including licensing aspects, admin tasks, etc.

  • Be the main POC for Polish and Eastern Europe end users (from promotion to execution to post-delivery)

  • Manage customers within the region in the BD pursuits with regular monitoring and timely responses to RFQ, RFPs, demo requests, and information requests.

  • Meet or Exceed Revenue Forecast 

Job Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level or be able to demonstrate solid experience in a similar defence working environment.

  • Experience in the Airborne Defence market is advantageous.

  • You will have the ability to work at all levels.

  • Proven experience of strategic selling with an emphasis on Government sales end users (primarily Military, Border Guard, Para Public and Police) through the various channels we utilize direct to end users, direct to end users through factory authorized representatives, to OEMs, to distributors, to integrators. 

  • As well as being technically adept, you will have experience of selling through Government tenders and competitive bids using strong persuasive oral and writing skills. 

  • You will be motivated to achieve demanding BD & Sales Team targets.

  • It will be advantageous if you understand the underlying business principles, Govt procurement processes, and a demonstrated ability to understand technical factors associated with our products and markets.  

  • A military background would benefit the candidate.

  • Embracing a team work ethic.

  • Computer skills to support proposal preparation, presentations and customer relationship management are essential.

  • The ability to work cross functional is required for this role.

  • Analysis skills are critical for future product investments.

  • Foreign language skills: English and Polish is essential, while German would be advantageous.

  • The ability to travel extensively is an essential requirement of the role.

  • Awareness of statutory and corporate FCPA, export licensing and foreign trade rules.

  • A track record of business development and successful closing (awarding) of campaigns would be advantageous.

  • Team player but capable of working independently, self-starter, able to work under pressure, flexible approach, able to work outside of personal comfort zone.

  • Security Clearance for Poland is required for this position.
     

This role will be homebased, and we will consider those residing in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy and the UK.

This position requires access to export-controlled information or items (i.e. regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US and Polish regulations). Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from both the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce and Polish authorities.
