Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated (a hunter!) and experienced Business Development Manager – Contract Logistics to take part actively in our sales initiatives in the logistics sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in logistics, supply chain solutions, and business development. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strong client relationships, and exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Design and implement comprehensive sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the client base.

  • Identify new business opportunities, both within existing markets and new geographic regions.

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential markets, and competitive dynamics.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

  • Identify, target, and acquire new clients by presenting tailored logistics and supply chain solutions.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention, satisfaction, and growth.

  • Regularly meet with clients to understand their logistics needs, resolve concerns, and explore additional opportunities.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.

Business Development:

  • Explore and capitalize on new business opportunities in logistics services such as transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Jointly develop proposals, presentations, and pricing models with Solution Design team that align with client needs and company profitability.

  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals and contract negotiations.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track sales performance against targets and prepare detailed reports for senior management.

  • Analyse sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

  • Utilize CRM systems to maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of logistics services for clients.

  • Coordinate with the marketing team to design and implement campaigns that generate leads and boost brand visibility.

  • Collaborate with other Sales division for cross selling activities.

Market and Industry Engagement:

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

  • Stay informed about global and local logistics trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.

  • Gather and relay client feedback to the product development and operations teams for continuous service improvement.

Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:

  • Address and resolve client issues, delivery challenges, or disputes promptly and effectively.

  • Lead negotiations with challenging clients or partners to secure favourable terms.

Regulatory and Compliance Awareness:

  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to industry regulations, international trade laws, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in logistics or supply chain.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly motivated with a strong drive to succeed and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and logistics management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and freight forwarding.
