Job purpose
Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new opportunities, and building strategic partnerships. Duties and responsibilities
Business Growth Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Identify and pursue new market segments and business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, partners, and opportunities.
- Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and other strategic methods.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
- Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and requests.
Strategic Partnerships:
- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships that align with the company's objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute partnership agreements.
Sales Presentations and Pitching:
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients and partners.
- Clearly articulate the value proposition and benefits of our products/services.
Revenue Generation:
- Meet and exceed revenue targets through effective business development strategies.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and manage the entire sales process.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
- Provide regular reports on business development activities, including sales forecasts and performance metrics.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven 5+ international experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar sales role.
- IT Consulting and/or Technology sales background, however exposure in the Education market, Consulting or Examination / Certification sectors in previous role(s) would be considered as an asset.
- Sound understanding of channel development, strategy selling principles, partnership strategy and consultative selling
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute business plans.
- Proactive and results-driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Fluency in English is required (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
- Competence in MS Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar
- Willing to work across time zones and teams to deliver results
- A second language other than English would be a benefit

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
o A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
o Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
o HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
o Financial background check
o Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
