The Pay, Perks, and Benefits

What You Will Do
The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to support strategic growth initiatives within the Manufacturing Advancement Division. Reporting to the Vice President of Partnerships, this role will help expand industry engagement, identify new opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and support the growth of IALR's Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA).  This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, conducting research, coordinating projects, and connecting organizations with innovative manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, research, and track prospective clients, industry partners, strategic opportunities, contracts, grants, and funding sources.
• Support partnership development efforts that strengthen relationships across industry, government, economic development, and manufacturing sectors.
• Coordinate outreach activities, meetings, presentations, and communications with prospective and existing partners.
• Maintain and manage CRM systems to track partnership activity, engagement, and business development pipelines.
• Collaborate with technical experts across CMA's areas of expertise, including digital manufacturing, digital transformation, quality, subtractive technologies, and workforce development.
• Assist with the development of proposals, presentations, briefing materials, and executive communications.
• Track partnership performance metrics and prepare reports that support business development decision-making.
• Support conferences, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and industry engagement events.
• Assist with client and partner engagement activities in collaboration with the Program Management Office.
• Support contract proposal development, grant application efforts, and related documentation.

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Expertise
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
• Two to five years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales support, fundraising, relationship management, or program coordination.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems.
• Ability to conduct market research, analyze information, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience supporting proposals, grants, contracts, or partnership initiatives is preferred.
• Interest in advanced manufacturing, workforce development, innovation, or economic development is a plus.
