JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you enjoy being the person who keeps details organized and projects moving forward? The Business Development Assistant - RFPs & Proposals supports Alston & Bird’s RFPs and Proposals team with the day‑to‑day work that helps showcase the firm and support new business efforts. This role works closely with attorney biographies, photography coordination, content updates, and proposal materials, and is well suited for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and enjoys supporting a fast‑paced professional services team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supports the firm’s Biographies Team by posting biography, publication, and event entries on the firm’s website.
Coordinates photographer schedules and photography sign-ups across several offices.
Finalizes RFP response process by logging and filing supporting information relative to the submitted response (i.e., contributors, notes, final copy of the response, etc.)
Assists with proofing, content management, and document formatting.
Assists with data entry and file organization.
Performs basic industry, prospect and competitor research and works with Research Services to collect and help synthesize advanced research when necessary.
Performs other marketing and business development related responsibilities and project-based takes as assigned.
Skills Needed to Be Successful
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written communication skills are a requirement (writing skills, spelling, grammar usage, etc.).
Ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with people at all levels of the firm.
Commitment to providing superior customer service.
Advanced knowledge of PC applications, including PDF and MS Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is preferred. Working knowledge of and interest in AI is also a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft styles is a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERINCE
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or related field is preferred.
Experience in a professional services environment is preferred.
