We are seeking a Business Development/Acquisition Specialist with strong B2B Corporate Business Development experience in a fast-paced, client-focused and relationship-oriented business environment to join our team in Uganda

The Role
Why it’s important: This role will be necessary for client acquisitions, retention and driving Business growth strategy at BMU. You will be responsible for developing a network of contacts to attract new clients, researching marketing opportunities, overseeing growth projects, managing sales projects and forecasting revenue in line with the projected income.

What it covers:  As the Business Development/Acquisition Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying and qualifying potential clients during acquisition, understanding client needs and environment, positioning appropriate recruitment solutions to bridge the needs gaps, collaborating with the delivery team and ensuring a transparent and quality experience throughout the client journey for a better output to maximize on revenue growth.

Who you will work with: This role is part of the Sales Operations team and you will be reporting to the Head of Sales. In addition to working with the core team, you will also engage with other stakeholders in Recruitment, Customer Service and Operations.


Responsibilities
  1. Acquire new clients by contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings to explore areas of talent need within their businesses and recommend value that would contribute to their overall business growth. 

  2. In collaboration with the marketing team, you will be planning and overseeing initiatives that will improve client acquisition from the targeted segments and then them in line with the stipulated onboarding procedure in place.

  3. Pipeline Management - Develop and maintain 3x pipeline volume with the right balance to guarantee MOM revenue attainment. Managing the full pipeline conversion cycle with aggression and utmost precision with a focus on achieving monthly targets.

  4. Researching organizations to identify if they are the right client fit for the business and if they have any needs that align with what is offered. This will also help them understand their buying Patterns and Trends.

  5. Sets realistic expectations with clients to increase the value provided at any given time and create an opportunity pipeline while attracting new ones.

  6. In collaboration with marketing, you will be required to find and develop new markets and improve sales to achieve revenue growth.

  7. Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events that are relevant to the organization to cultivate business relationships, widen networks get insight into industry trends.

  8. Developing specific proposals, sourcing, and responding to RFQs and RFPs for potential clients.

  9. Developing your individual goals, key results, and initiatives that guide your activities toward the achievement of the set revenue and pipeline targets.



Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.

  • Must have 5 years of proven experience as a Business Development Specialist or Relationship manager dealing with B2B, Corporate or Institutional sales

  • Great marketing research skills i.e. you are great at researching business opportunities, competitors and trends analysis.

  • Experience working with a Recruitment or HR Consulting firm is an added advantage.

  • A very good understanding of the different industries within the market and the current trends within each industry

  • A high comfort level speaking with and selling to others and great writing skills.

  • An active network, key contacts, and is confident and tactical in maintaining positive relationships with business decision-makers.

  • Strong organizational, oral & written communication skills

  • Experience with managing relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • The ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight timelines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team. This involves long-term planning and clear instructions. 

  • Highly experienced in handly sales negotiations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • High intelligence and problem-solving skills.

  • Very flexible and quick to adapt to dynamic situations.

  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.

  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.

  • Ability to draw insights and act strategically based on data.

  • A High Curiosity Quotient.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
