Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will report to the SVP Ancillary Business.  This position will also work with the Vice Presidents of Sales, as needed.  The role will be a sales support function. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a research source for the sales team related to market specific accounts, leads, and functions
  • Produce market snapshot reports for the sales team as needed
  • Participate on the sales team and perform tasks as assigned
  • Assist in new business development and GTM as needed
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to promote new/additional services offered by Zelis
  • Partner with the SVP, Ancillary Sales on reporting needs
  • Participate in Sales and Marketing meetings as needed
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to Zelis standards regarding privacy and security

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Foundational knowledge of Zelis product portfolio and overall strategy of Zelis Sales Team
  • Foundational knowledge of specific and assigned markets (i.e., Property & Casualty, Dental, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to retain, upsell and maximize existing service lines
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with/for Health, Dental, or Property & Casualty Insurance companies, TPAs or similar organizations in sales role
  • Ability to clearly communicate to clients and internal Zelis stakeholders
  • Sense of urgency and ability to multi-task
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and other MS Office products
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree preferred but not required

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
