Job Description
The Clinical Informatics Analyst will support the Operation Analytics & Clinical Informatics department by translating business needs into analytical solutions that improve healthcare delivery, operational efficiency, and clinical outcomes. This role involves gathering and analyzing healthcare data, developing data models and reports, and working cross-functionally to identify actionable insights. The analyst will collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to deliver data-driven solutions that align with the organization’s strategic goals.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs.
Collaborates with clinical and operational stakeholders to define business needs and translate them into detailed data and reporting requirements.
Collects, analyzes, and interprets healthcare and operational data from multiple sources, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Develops reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to support decision-making across departments.
Works with data engineering and IT teams to validate data pipelines and ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of data.
Supports data governance and standardization efforts within the department to ensure consistent definitions and usage of healthcare metrics.
Facilitates meetings, workshops, and presentations with key stakeholders to share findings and gather feedback.
Creates clear documentation of analytical methods, data sources, and assumptions to support reproducibility and transparency of analysis.
Conducts root cause analysis on variances in clinical or operational performance.
Participates in the planning, development, and deployment of new analytics initiatives, tools, and solutions.
Stays up-to-date with trends in healthcare analytics, informatics, and regulatory reporting to ensure alignment with industry standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of and experience in software development with special focus in Enterprise Data Warehousing.
Excellent communication, professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Solid understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, or population health data.
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with querying complex datasets from data warehouses or clinical data repositories.
Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and translate data into actionable insights.
Knowledge of healthcare terminologies (ICD, CPT, DRG, LOINC, etc.) and data standards (HL7, FHIR) is preferred.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
Demonstrated experience in identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and designing metrics for operational tracking.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Understanding of data privacy and security standards, including HIPAA compliance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in a healthcare or clinical analytics environment.
Experience working with clinical data (EHRs, claims, billing, etc.) and large-scale data systems in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Exposure to healthcare quality reporting, regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, HEDIS), or clinical outcome analysis is a plus.
PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds.
Required to have close visual acuity to perform job functions such as reviewing reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets.
Salary Rate $68,315.00 - $126,382.75
The rate offered for this position will be in the range of $70,000 - $90,000
This range represents what we, in good faith, expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and performance. Actual compensation may fall outside this range and is subject to change in the future.
Salary Range:
$68,315.00 - $126,383.00Salary may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
