We are looking for a Business Application Senior Specialist (SCM) to take ownership of a specific business capability within our IT landscape, in this role you are responsible for delivering functional designs across data, process, and technology, driving IT solutions, and supporting IT operations.
In this role, you will act as a custodian of a defined Supply Chain Management (SCM) domain within our Oracle R12-based application landscape. You will ensure that key end-to-end processes such as order management, logistics, warehousing, planning, inventory, and spare parts management are effectively designed, implemented, and continuously improved.
This is not just a support or delivery role – you will:
- Own a full SCM sub-domain end-to-end
- Work across projects, operations, and continuous improvement
- See the full lifecycle: from idea → design → implementation → live operations

You will play a critical role in bridging business and IT, translating requirements into robust solution designs, ensuring smooth delivery into the business, and safeguarding system stability in production. At the same time, you will drive continuous improvement of the SCM landscape by resolving complex issues, leading root cause analysis, and ensuring recurring problems are structurally eliminated.
This is a role that combines solution design, delivery ownership, and operational excellence, with real accountability for both project outcomes and live system performance.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for both project delivery and operational excellence, including:
- Design and deliver end-to-end IT solutions for key SCM processes
- Translate business needs into scalable, high-quality system designs
- Own a portfolio of enhancements and project contributions
- Act as 3rd line expert for complex incidents and drive root cause analysis
- Improve system performance by driving structural, long-term fixes
- Ensure compliance with ITGC/ITAC controls and audit requirements
- Oversee data, release, and access controls (SOD/UAM)
- Act as a functional & technical SME, guiding stakeholders and team members
- Collaborate with international teams and external partners to ensure stable operations
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of experience in IT (functional and/or technical), ideally within Supply Chain Management or similar domains
- Strong knowledge of SCM processes (e.g. logistics, order management, planning, inventory)
- Strong experience with Oracle R12, SQL, PL/SQL, Workflow, Forms, Reports, BI Publisher, Integrations & Data Migrations
- Be capable to read & review PL/SQL code; Work on Code performance improvements
- Proven ability to act as both a functional and technical expert within your domain
- Experience in both IT delivery (projects) and IT operations / production support environments
- Strong understanding of IT governance, compliance, and control frameworks (ITGC/ITAC)
- Experience working in complex, international environments with multiple stakeholders and partners
- Ability to translate business needs into clear technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement

This position is based in the Netherlands. To ensure a smooth onboarding and collaboration, we are currently focusing on candidates already located in the Netherlands. Relocation is not part of this role.
