What you'll do
Conduct exploratory data analysis across disparate data sources (e.g. website usage, dealer behavior patterns and sales data) to understand the performance of CarGurus business and revenue strategies. Duties include: translate business requirements into analytic solutions and communicate results through visualizations and presentations; identify opportunities for revenue optimization; define metrics to evaluate business performance and experiments; build data transformations, reports, and dashboards to monitor and understand business performance utilizing SQL and Python/R, or other scripting languages; communicate and present business and revenue data analyses, visualizations, and insights to key stakeholders; partner with the sales, marketing, finance, product, and engineering departments to grow the business, including recommending and advocating for performance improvement ideas; utilize data to improve the quality of business decision making; and mentor junior data analysts on technical and professional development. Who You Are:
Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Position also requires one (1) year of experience with each of the following: Data modeling; dbt, SQL, Python, Snowflake, and/or AWS; Business intelligence reporting and strategic analysis; Process automation and scripting; Data analysis, visualization techniques, and programming techniques; and MS Excel, including writing advanced excel formulas and using conditional, vlookups/hlookups, sorting and filtering, array formulas, and VBA macros, pivot reporting, and conditional formatting.

The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On-Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on-target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.
Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Position Pay Range
$114,088 - $127,000 USD
