Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a
large-scale data modernization initiative. This role focuses on report
development, data migration, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities
through a modern data warehouse/lakehouse environment. The successful candidate
will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to define
requirements, ensure data quality, and deliver high-impact reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead
business and system analysis efforts for modern reporting solutions within
a data warehouse/lakehouse environment
- Define
reporting MVP, document legacy reports, conduct gap analysis, and
recommend improvements
- Gather
and document requirements as user stories using DevOps tools
- Translate
business needs into functional and technical requirements
- Conduct
business modeling, process analysis, and data flow modeling
- Create
documentation to support long-term solution sustainability
- Support
data migration activities, including identifying data quality issues and
performing reconciliation
- Develop
KPIs to track reporting and migration progress
- Provide
ongoing post-migration support and optimize data processes
- Collaborate
with stakeholders across business and IT teams
- Support
testing activities including defining test cases and validating results
- Ensure
compliance with organizational security, architectural, and governance
standards
- Perform
knowledge transfer to internal team members
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- 10+
years of experience in business and system analysis
- Experience
working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strong
experience in data warehousing, data lakes, or business
intelligence/reporting solutions
- Experience
with large-scale data migration projects
- Proven
experience writing user stories and using DevOps tools
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience
aligning analysis deliverables with public sector or enterprise standards
- Expertise
in business modeling, data modeling, and process analysis
- Hands-on
experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Working
knowledge of SQL and ETL processes
- Experience
with Dynamics 365 or other CRM/ERP systems
- Strong
background in testing, QA processes, and defect management
- Understanding
of data quality, cleansing, and validation practices
- Experience
collaborating across technical and business teams
- Strong
analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
