Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders, subject matter experts, data producers, and data consumers to extract clear business needs.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs, and data flow reviews to understand current state and future state requirements.
- Translate high level business objectives into detailed, testable functional and non-functional requirements.
- Elicit and document data requirements such as data sources, definitions, metrics, transformations, quality constraints, and update frequencies.
- Define analytics and reporting requirements including KPIs, business rules, visualizations, and user experience expectations; develop wireframes when appropriate.
- Produce high quality documentation such as business requirements documents, source-to-target mappings, project plans, and user stories.
- Collaborate with BI Developers to design report layouts and mockups.
- Support training sessions and change management efforts for business users and operational teams.
- Act as the primary communication bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
- Familiarity with data concepts such as data modeling, data warehousing and lake house architecture.
- Ability to read and interpret SQL and other structured query languages.
