The Role

At Frontier Energy, we’re more than just engineers and professionals—we’re a team of innovators, problem-solvers, and visionaries dedicated to advancing clean energy solutions. Our mission is to pioneer the intelligent use of energy for a sustainable and resilient future.

We offer a collaborative and dynamic workplace where your ideas are heard, nurtured, and transformed into impactful solutions. With a flat hierarchy and open-door policy, every team member is empowered to experiment, take ownership, and make a real difference.

Beyond fostering an inspiring culture, we provide competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth. Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of energy while leaving a positive impact on the world.

The Business Analyst will serve as the critical link between stakeholders and developers—translating complex business needs into actionable requirements and ensuring successful delivery of technical solutions. This role is especially focused on middleware systems supporting energy efficiency programs and integrations between external data sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, developers, and downstream users, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding.
  • Gather, clarify, and document business and technical requirements; manage the full lifecycle of changes from initial request to post-implementation communication.
  • Break down complex, technical issues into clear, digestible information for non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze and interpret program needs to design or update systems that transform and move data between platforms.
  • Coordinate reviews of requirements with developers to identify gaps, clarify ambiguity, and obtain estimates.
  • Track progress, monitor scope, and proactively communicate updates, risks, or delays to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain accurate, up-to-date process and data workflows that reflect current business and system logic.
  • Ensure all required QA/QC steps are identified, executed, and verified before implementation is considered complete.
  • Maintain updated documentation, training materials, and knowledge of upstream and downstream systems.

Required Skills

  • 2–3 years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar liaison role with exposure to software development projects.
  • Proven ability to translate between business and technical teams—simplifying complex issues for clarity and consensus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with issue tracking and project documentation tools.
  • Familiarity with data integrations, workflows, or middleware systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience designing or coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of middleware architectures or data pipelines.
  • Experience with tools such as YouTrack, Jira, or similar issue-tracking platforms.
  • Lucidchart or similar tools for visual workflow and process mapping.
