The Business Analyst plays a key role in driving business solutions by gathering and analyzing requirements, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering measurable value to the MEMIC Group. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to work independently on projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Business Analyst takes ownership of their work, identifies opportunities for process improvements, and ensures solutions align with organizational goals. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in business analysis who is eager to drive meaningful change and deliver measurable value to the organization.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Gather, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational goals.
* Lead the documentation of current and future state processes, workflows, and user stories, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating clear communication and managing expectations.
* Proactively identify inefficiencies in processes and propose innovative solutions to improve workflows and deliver measurable value.
* May act as Lead BA on a Product Team, managing and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder needs.
* Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
* Utilize BA tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Visio, Excel) to document requirements, model processes, and track project progress.
* Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather input, gain clarity, and build consensus.
* Mentor Associate BAs by providing guidance, sharing best practices, and supporting their professional development.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* 2-4 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
* Familiarity with workers' compensation or insurance processes is preferred.
* Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose practical, data-driven solutions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
* Proficiency in BA tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Visio, Excel) and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on delivering measurable business value.
* Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
* Willingness and ability to adapt to changing priorities and embrace new challenges
