The Role
This role is part of the European Change Team, consisting of business analysts, project and transformation managers and product owners who work closely with the various European countries and functions in order to deliver a portfolio of strategic, operational and regulatory change and achieve tangible business benefits.
The main focus of this role is performing key analysis, supporting decision making and working on the delivery of the value streams, strategic change, digital and operational initiatives across Europe. This role requires strong analytical skills and capacity to translate business needs into requirements. It is also essential to have great problem solving capability combined with an ability to connect and work effectively with various stakeholders across Europe. The projects and improvements are varied from performing market and business performance analysis, supporting the delivery of ongoing change through the value streams in agile cycles, deep dive on strategic assessments to improvement of organizational effectiveness, customer experience, operational excellence, selecting and applying innovative technology to business problems (e.g. robotics, natural language processing) and/or compliance with regulatory requirements with a direct or indirect impact on the P&L of the European business. Ongoing delivery occurs through multiple systems (legacy and target) whereas initiatives in the past have included the definition of the Direct business strategy, the definition, selection and implementation of new platforms for digital business, streamlining of operational processes, implementation of financial crime prevention tools, assessment and implementation of technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
Considering our transformation journey this role is also expected to have great skills in working on hybrid business and technologies and have a strong knowledge on agile methodologies in order to support an smooth and effective change journey.
Key responsibilities?
A Business Analyst is a subject matter expert in converting business needs into clear and actionable requirements, preparing analysis for decision making (functional and financial), supporting problem solving and decision making.
Main activities for this role should be:
- Lead the end-to-end business analysis activities across strategic, digital, operational, and regulatory initiatives and value streams
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, drivers, constraints, and success criteria • Analyse current-state processes, systems, data, and customer journeys to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Translate business needs into user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications suitable for delivery teams. Ensure requirements and solutions comply with internal governance, risk, and regulatory obligations
- Prioritise requirements in collaboration with business owners, product owners, and delivery leads
- Facilitate alignment between business, technology, operations, data, and external partners • Evaluate solution options and contribute to the selection of technology, vendors, or delivery approaches • Produce high-quality analysis deliverables including process maps, business cases, and impact assessments
- Build and maintain business cases, benefits hypotheses, and value tracking mechanisms
- Validate delivered solutions against requirements and business expectations
- Support testing activities by helping define test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating outcomes
- Assess change impacts on people, processes, systems, and controls and support change readiness activities
- Communicate complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery models as required by the initiative
- Drive continuous improvement of business analysis practices, tools, and standards Technical must-haves
- Master’s degree, ideally in Management / Economics / Engineering (or similar)
- Solid background in tech/business consulting, ideally in insurance business
- Ability to understand business needs and translate them to functional and non-functional requirements as well as process maps
- Ability to derive business cases and present arguments for decision making
- Experience in working with agile/scrum methodology
- Fluent in English, verbally and written, is mandatory
- Fluency in other European languages is preferred (German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Flemish)
