The Role
The Business Analyst I – Apprentice supports the implementation of Duck Creek Reinsurance software solutions while developing practical experience in business analysis, software delivery, and the insurance industry.
Working alongside experienced Business Analysts and Project Managers, you will help gather and document business requirements, support software implementation and testing activities, collaborate with customers and internal teams, and contribute to successful project delivery while building your professional skills.
What You'll Do
- Support customer implementation projects under the guidance of experienced Business Analysts and Project Managers.
- Assist with gathering, analysing, documenting, and validating business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Prepare and maintain business analysis documentation, including business requirements, user stories, process flows, functional specifications, use cases, decision logs, and implementation documentation.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams throughout the software implementation lifecycle, participating in workshops, project meetings, and requirements discussions while documenting outcomes and action items.
- Support software implementation, solution validation, functional testing, test planning, test execution, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Assist with customer training, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support.
- Conduct business, product, and industry research to support solution design, project delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop knowledge of insurance and reinsurance business processes, Duck Creek products, business analysis techniques, and software delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, through mentoring and hands-on project experience.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Foundational understanding of business processes, analytical thinking, and problem-solving principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Operational proficiency in English.
Preferred
- Internship, apprenticeship, academic project, or other relevant experience supporting business analysis, software implementation, information technology, or project delivery.
- Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or other software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with business analysis techniques such as requirements elicitation, process mapping, user stories, use cases, and functional documentation.
- Experience using collaboration or work management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to enterprise software, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), insurance, reinsurance, or financial services environments.
