About this role:
Consumer Banking & Lending's BSA/AML organization is seeking a Business Accountability Senior Manager. You will be responsible for leading a team of Business Accountability specialists supporting Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) governance activities across the Consumer and Business Lending businesses. This role provides leadership and oversight for product and transaction risk assessment programs, BSA/AML policy governance, and the coordination of policy exception management processes. The position serves as a key partner to business leaders, Risk, Compliance, and Financial Crimes stakeholders to ensure effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of financial crimes risks while maintaining adherence to enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Risk Assessment Oversight
  • Lead and manage a team of Business Accountability specialists responsible for assessing and monitoring financial crimes risks across Consumer and Business Lending products, services, and activities.
  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, performance management, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Oversee the execution of product and transaction risk assessment activities to evaluate financial crimes risks associated with new and existing business processes, products, and services.
  • Ensure consistent application of risk assessment methodologies and governance standards.
  • Direct and oversee risk assessment activities including:
    • Targeted Risk Assessments (TRAs) prescribed by FCRM.
    • Risk Assessments for New Business Initiatives (RANBIs).
    • Product Inherent Risk Assessments.
    • Transaction-Based Risk Assessments.
  • Monitor assessment results and drive remediation strategies to address identified risks, control gaps, and emerging financial crimes concerns.
BSA/AML Policy Governance
  • Manage the BSA/AML Policy Governance Program for Consumer and Business Lending.
  • Ensure business activities, products, and processes remain aligned with enterprise BSA/AML policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Coordinate reviews of new and revised policies, procedures, and requirements impacting Consumer and Business Lending.
  • Facilitate policy implementation activities and provide guidance to business stakeholders regarding policy interpretation and compliance obligations.
  • Monitor policy adherence and support issue identification, escalation, and mitigation activities as necessary.
Policy Exceptions, Risk Determinations, and Alternative Approaches
  • Lead the governance process for policy exceptions arising from operational, technical, or business limitations.
  • Coordinate the development, documentation, review, and approval of Risk Determinations and Alternative Approaches.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, FCRM, Compliance, Legal, and Risk organizations to ensure exception requests are appropriately documented and supported.
  • Ensure all requests clearly articulate risk considerations, compensating controls, implementation plans, and business rationale.
  • Monitor approved exceptions and alternative approaches to ensure compliance with approval conditions, renewal requirements, and expiration timelines.
  • Provide reporting and transparency to leadership regarding exception inventory, status, trends, and associated risks.
Risk Governance and Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Consumer and Business Lending, FCRM, Compliance, Audit, and other control functions.
  • Prepare and present risk assessment results, policy governance updates, and exception management reporting to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Identify emerging risks and recommend enhancements to risk management practices, governance frameworks, and monitoring activities.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and independent reviews related to financial crimes risk management activities.
Success Measures in role
  • Timely completion of risk assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Effective governance and compliance with BSA/AML policy requirements.
  • Strong oversight and management of approved policy exceptions and alternative approaches.
  • Quality and accuracy of executive reporting and risk communications.
  • Demonstrated reduction of financial crimes risk exposure through effective governance and control oversight.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
  • Extensive experience in financial services, risk management, compliance, audit, or financial crimes disciplines.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with BSA/AML regulations, financial crimes risk management principles, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience developing and managing risk governance processes, policy management activities, and exception approval frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in financial services risk, compliance, audit, or financial crimes.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams that execute enterprise risk assessment programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting Consumer Lending and Business Lending products and operations.
  • Knowledge of FCRM risk assessment methodologies and governance processes.
  • Experience managing Risk Determinations, Alternative Approaches, and policy exception programs.
  • Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and enterprise risk management organizations.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $279,000.00
