Using an inquisitive and analytical mindset to independently review financial information, assess legal and regulatory compliance, evaluate risks within banking organizations, and ask questions to get to the root cause of potential issues or concerns.

Leveraging strong communication skills to lead meetings with executive leaders at financial institutions and produce clear and concise written documents and reports.

Relying on strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and reach consensus with a wide range of audiences.

Providing guidance to banking executives and coaching team members to foster maximized performance.

Investing in the development of your peers by proactively sharing knowledge and regularly providing peer level feedback in support of the KC Fed’s focus on employee growth.
Key Activities:
- Supports the Department’s BSA/AML examination activities for the District. The incumbent will serve as a technical expert for all BSA/AML-related regulations and will act as a resource for state member bank/bank holding company BSA Officers, field examiners, and central points of contact.

Serves as the point of contact and provides subject matter expertise for community and regional state member banks, bank holding companies, and other supervised entities.

Develops BSA-related objectives for the E&I Department and provide periodic updates on the status of those objectives. In addition, the incumbent may conduct ongoing analysis of Suspicious Activity Report filings, conduct training for general staff, support industry outreach, collaborate with the internal Fintech team, and participate in BSA/AML related projects.

Represents the Reserve Bank’s official position in meetings with senior and executive level management of banking organizations to communicate and provide support for supervisory conclusions.

Prepares written reports or other tailored correspondence to communicate findings and matters of supervisory interest to executive level management and boards of directors.
What are the minimum qualifications?
Required
-
Minimum of 4 years of relevant BSA/AML experience within the banking industry and/or with a federal or state regulatory banking agency.

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in an applicable field, or relevant work experience.
-
Willingness and ability to travel 20 – 30 percent of the time.
-
Effective skills using Microsoft Office products, web-based applications, and email.

Ability to work out of our Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City, or Omaha offices.
Preferred
-
Graduate or advanced degree in business, management, accounting, finance, or economics.
-
Commissioned examiner credentials or BSA/AML experience within a bank or bank holding company environment preferred.
-
BSA/AML or fraud related industry certification is preferred.
-
Knowledge of financial technologies, cryptocurrency, or digital assets is preferred.

- Not eligible for remote work
Salary:
Starting Salary Range: $97,800 - $174,200
*Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
Screening:
This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. The candidate's start date may be impacted by completion of the screening. The areas screened may include education/employment verification, criminal history, credit history, and reference checks.
