Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of broadcast systems, including signal flow, RF transmission, and studio equipment
- Support technical reliability and compliance, including FCC regulations and internal standards
- Provide hands-on support for studio, control room, and field productions, addressing technical issues in live and recorded broadcasts
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and repairs on broadcast equipment
- Assist with system upgrades, installations, and documentation of technical processes
- Monitor equipment performance to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Collaborate closely with Chief Broadcast Engineer, engineering staff, and production teams to support daily operations
- Perform additional technical duties as assigned to ensure seamless broadcast quality
Experience & Requirements
- 2–5 years in broadcast engineering, live production support, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with RF systems, signal routing, and broadcast transmission
- Experience with video/audio routing, servers, and automation systems
- Familiarity with FCC regulations and broadcast compliance requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills in live or time-sensitive environments
- Ability to follow technical procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networking, and broadcast integration
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
