Job Summary
The Engineer 1 is the front-line Tier-2 representative, providing immediate response to any customer problems and working in close coordination with other Support, Systems Engineering, and Operations staff. The role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and recovery of master control operations and certain new media systems, including traditional broadcast, TCP/IP, and file-based media transcode and delivery. Duties include the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of broadcast system equipment, encompassing audio, video, control system, and networking products. The Engineer 1 also provides technical support for all broadcast origination operations, which includes master control and live event set-up. This multifaceted position ensures smooth and reliable broadcasting, making it a rewarding opportunity for those passionate about delivering exceptional media experiences to our valued customers.
Job Description
Qualifications:
- Associate degree and / or three to five years related work experience in all facets of broadcast engineering maintenance including working knowledge of broadcast automation systems, media server, master control switchers, signal routers, frame synchronizers, graphics and branding devices, data encoders, display systems and other popular broadcast technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and software.
- Familiarity with Linux / UNIX based systems.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts and skills and their application in support of our clients.

Core Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of workflows and signal flows, identifying at-fault devices, and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Perform basic tuning and troubleshooting of various satellite and fiber decoders.
- Knowledge of metadata and characteristics of analog, SD/HD signals, and audio types.
- Utilize test equipment such as waveform monitors, scopes, multimeters, and audio monitors to aid in testing and troubleshooting.
- Exhibit familiarity with computer hardware, software, and IP networking related to multi-channel broadcasting.
- Understand TCP/IP protocols, network design, and maintenance practices.
- Assist in network planning, engineering, architecture, and the development of technical standards for video over IP.
- Create and maintain basic reference documentation on hardware, applications, and workflow.
- Contribute to projects supporting the implementation, operations, and management of real-time, network-computing infrastructure.
- Install and repair broadcast operations equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize issue tracking tools following team standardized protocols.
- Fulfill any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $32.00 - $47.99
