Common and Baseline Responsibilities
- Provides assistance throughout the design process under routine guidance; contributes to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
- Begins to understand branding concepts (including interior architecture, print graphics, environmental graphics, and signage and wayfinding) and their integration in the built environment.
- Provides design support to team members.
- Participates in preparing design plans, design strategy, storytelling, color plans, and schedules.
- Supports development of plan diagrams, sections, and elevations.
- Learns to manipulate basic design elements and applies principles of design such as form, scale, color, texture, pattern, balance, and proportion.
- Assists in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations.
- Participates in site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
- Uses a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
- Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and compile data for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
- Proactively asks questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
- Provides support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities.
- Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
- Assists with coordination among partners and consultants.
- Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader.

Proficiencies
- Proficient knowledge in interior architecture including but not limited to building codes, site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, field measurements, life safety requirements, specifications, construction contract administration, design conceptualization, hand sketching, furniture specifications, including research, selection, and budget analysis
- Environmental graphic design expertise including but not limited to research capabilities, brand strategy, storytelling, copy writing, art direction, identity design, graphic design conceptualization, PSD/AI scripts and actions, vendor selection, micro site design, prepare, recap, and analyze visioning sessions
- Production artistry including material research, dimensioning/detailing, specifications, sampling, production art files, RFI responses, construction coordination, assistance with preparation of production files
Software
- Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
- Basic to Intermediate Revit
- Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
- Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite
- Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay
- Physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting
- Presentation tools such as In Design and Photoshop
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Vector Astor
- Phantasm

Licensure/Certifications/Education
- A degree in interior design, architecture, graphic design, or other related discipline is required
- LEED GA within 6 months of hire
- Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, ILFI Living Future Accreditation or RELi AP.
