The Brand Strategy Director is a senior individual contributor responsible for the strategic stewardship, performance, and market presence of the Insperity brand. This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, advertising performance, and creative partnership, requiring someone who is equally comfortable in the data and in the room with creative leadership, agency partners, and senior stakeholders.  This is not a traditional brand management role. The Brand Strategy Director brings a clear, informed point of view to every dimension of the brand and operates with a high degree of autonomy, brings recommendations forward without being asked.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines and stewards Insperity's brand strategy, positioning, voice, messaging, and brand standards, partnering closely with the Director, Creative to ensure the brand is expressed consistently and effectively across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape, consumer behavior, and emerging market trends, bringing forward insights and strategic recommendations that keep Insperity’s brand relevant and differentiated.
  • Identifies and evaluates brand partnership and placement opportunities that enhance awareness and engagement with target audiences.
  • Owns the performance of Insperity’s brand advertising portfolio, independently analyzing campaign data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and bringing forward optimization recommendations without being prompted.
  • Serves as the primary day-to-day relationship owner with the external advertising agency, providing clear strategic direction, managing performance expectations, and ensuring all work is aligned to brand objectives and business outcomes.
  • Communicates brand advertising performance, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders including creative and agency operations, providing the context and direction needed to brief, prioritize, and execute work effectively.
  • Establishes and maintains a rigorous approach to brand KPIs, tracking performance across campaigns, channels, and audience segments, and telling the performance story clearly to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Partners with the Director, Creative as a strategic brand voice, bringing a clear and informed point of view on how creative work reflects and advances brand objectives, and contributing substantive feedback that elevates the work rather than simply evaluating it against guidelines.
  • Ensures that visual expression, messaging, and storytelling across all creative output consistently reinforces Insperity’s brand positioning and resonates with target audiences.
  • Collaborates with agency operations and creative teams to submit jobs, provide strategic context for requests, and help educate internal partners on brand standards and advertising objectives.
  • Stays current on how AI is reshaping brand discoverability, advertising performance, and competitive positioning, bringing a proactive point of view on what it means for Insperity’s brand strategy.
  • Leverages AI tools to enhance research, competitive analysis, and performance insight development, integrating emerging capabilities into the work in a way that raises the quality and efficiency of the function.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Ten years of progressive experience spanning brand strategy, advertising performance, and agency management, with demonstrated success across multiple disciplines rather than deep expertise in only one.
  • Proven track record of independently owning advertising performance, analyzing data, identifying optimization opportunities, and presenting actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Experience working directly with external creative and media agencies, providing strategic direction, managing performance expectations, and holding partners accountable to brand and business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with an external media agency and an internal creative agency providing strategic direction, managing performance expectations, and holding partners accountable to brand and business objectives.
  • Strong track record of partnering with creative leadership to translate brand strategy into effective creative execution, aligning on priorities and working toward shared brand and business goals.
  • B2B marketing experience is preferred. Candidates with B2C backgrounds who demonstrate the ability to apply brand and performance thinking to complex, considered-purchase categories will be strongly considered.
  • Advanced analytical capability with the ability to independently assess advertising performance data, identify what is working and what is not, and translate those insights into clear and actionable recommendations for leadership and agency partners.
  • Strategic and creative fluency with an ability to evaluate creative work against brand objectives with a specific and informed point of view in order to articulate what great looks like in a way that earns the respect of creative leadership.
  • Clear and confident brand voice with the ability to define what Insperity stands for, defend it when necessary, and evolve it thoughtfully as the market changes.
  • Ability to manage external agency relationships with a combination of strategic clarity and high expectations, providing direction that is specific enough to be actionable and holding partners accountable to the outcomes that matter.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and initiative, bringing recommendations forward without being asked and identifying opportunities before they become problems.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across a matrixed organization with creative teams, agency partners, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders through expertise, follow through, and consistent delivery.
