Are you a strategic brand marketer with a passion for impactful propositions, category management and seasonal events? We are looking for a Brand Manager in Own Brand to drive market share growth and overall performance across our Premium and Entry tiers. In this role, you will lead tier-specific growth strategies, steer end-to-end planning  and collaborate across marketing and commercial teams to ensure our ranges deliver maximum value to our customers.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy & Market Share Growth: Lead the execution for Premium ("The Best") and Entry ("Savers") tiers to optimise category range and store space, managing diamond delivery, monitoring delists, and presenting at Category Optimisation workshops.
  • Performance Tracking: Deliver periodic progress reports to the Own Brand Working and Steering Groups to track performance and inform business decisions.
  • Seasonal Event Management: Own end-to-end planning and execution for events (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter)—defining propositions, aligning trading and marketing teams, leading product awards testing, and conducting post-event performance reviews.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the core representative for the Own Brand team across cross-functional Marketing and Trading working groups.
  • People Leadership: Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and development support for Graduate Trainees and Degree Apprentices.

For this role, we're looking for someone
 

  • Brand & Category Management Experience: Proven track record in brand management, range optimisation, and trade activation—ideally within retail, FMCG, or grocery environments.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to analyse market share data, identify range/distribution opportunities, and report on key commercial metrics.
  • Seasonal Campaign Execution: Experience leading large-scale seasonal or event-based activations from brief through to post-campaign evaluation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and align cross-functional teams (Marketing,
  • Trading, Merchandising, Product Development).
  • Leadership & Coaching: Passion for developing early-career talent, with experience or aptitude for guiding graduates and apprentices.

Skills Required

  • Proven experience in brand management, range optimization, and trade activation, ideally in retail, FMCG, or grocery.
