Position Summary
In support of Busey’s brand, the Brand and Media Manager assists in the planning, development and implementation of First Busey Corporation’s brand, media and sponsorship strategies and other related brand initiatives. In partnership with the Media and Sponsorship Director, this individual will support brand initiatives as it relates to non-product information, media placement, digital channel management and other corporate projects, while effectively representing the Busey brand to our Pillars. The objective of this position is to uphold and expand the Busey brand through consistent channel placement, concise brand messaging and in-market sponsorships, guiding brand and marketing activities across mediums.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Media & Sponsorships
- Support the production and execution of regional media plans, sponsorships and digital placements.
- Partner with Media and Sponsorship Director to ensure cohesive media plans by region are consistently evaluated, project needs are delivered and reviewed within the team and communicated internally.
- Manage relationships with external media partners, sponsorship representatives, and content producers to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Review sponsorship opportunities, proposed and contracted, to best elevate and share the Busey brand.
- Support digital marketing campaigns, streaming services, geotargeting and evaluate future trends and tools.
- Digital certifications including search, display and SEO.
- Support Brand Strategies internal dashboard for line of business and C-Suite reporting.
- Evaluate, track and report on all media/marketing sponsorships.
- Assist the media buyer tracking on media buys and reporting on timelines and budgets
- Analyze the effectiveness of brand campaigns by collecting data and creating detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Media and Sponsorship Director to recommend adjustments based on campaign performance metrics.
- Brand Management & Strategy
- In partnership with the Media & Sponsorship Director, research, outline and implement successful marketing communication timelines and plans on a variety of topics to support corporate, bank and subsidiary initiatives.
- Review and execute on brand assets and materials, in partnership with Creative, for internal and external use.
- Support photo and video shoots, from location and model selection to shot lists, brand placement and script writing.
- Ensure compliance and regulatory needs are evaluated, documented and approved.
- Communication
- Support copywriting and repository of brand resources including copy outlines, radio and commercial scripts as well as in-house video projects.
- Coordinate voiceover needs and deploy to media partners and Creative Team.
- Curate new brand messaging, asset needs and media management.
- Ensure a cohesive advertising message across outlets.
- Facilitate communication and strategy development between departments for unified brand messaging.
- Innovation
- Research trends in innovative strategy, brand health and communication techniques and advise on ways to continuously improve efforts.
- Assist in the authoring and implementation of innovative media tools including podcasting, radio features, sponsorship engagements and more.
- Proactively seek communication and brand process improvements; partner with peers to develop best practices, share ideas and ensure consistency and refinement.
- Stay informed on emerging digital platforms and marketing trends, and propose innovative ways to engage target audiences through these channels.
- In partnership with Brand Strategies teams, lean-in to support other duties and projects as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Knowledge of:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to modify tone and deliverability channel.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while keeping projects on timeline. Project management experience a plus.
- Proven experience with content marketing communication, advertising, digital strategy, public relations, event planning and graphic design.
- Ability to:
- Assist Brand Strategies leadership to deliver concise and targeted brand messaging
- Passionate about storytelling through traditional and digital channels
- Analyze and recommend brand placements, strategies and awareness opportunities.
- Contribute to multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment with complete autonomy.
- Work independently while leading fellow team members to deliver desired outcomes.
- Champion efforts across Busey and build partnerships to enhance efforts.
- Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Marketing, Communications, or related field is preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Requires experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Google Ads Search and Display Certification and Adobe Creative Suite. Proficient in a project management platform such as Monday.com.
