As a Qualified Bookkeeper:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a similar relevant discipline.
- Qualified/certified Bookkeeper is highly desired.
2–3 years of proven bookkeeping experience, including transaction processing and allocation, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records.
-Strong proficiency in Xero is essential and non-negotiable.
-Strong Microsoft Excel skills are highly desirable.
Comfortable using Gmail and Google Workspace for day-to-day communication.
-Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
-Dependable, accountable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organised and able to manage recurring work across multiple clients and deadlines.
- Willing to learn client-specific processes and contribute to documenting and improving procedures as the business grows.
Your Responsibilities as a Qualified Bookkeeper would be:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients using Xero.
- Process and correctly allocate client transactions to a high standard.
-Complete bank and account reconciliations and identify discrepancies or errors for escalation.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as required for individual clients.
-Process payroll accurately using supplied timesheets and client information.
-Maintain accurate electronic client records and supporting documentation.
-Assist with recurring financial reporting and prepare information required for management reporting.
Use Excel for workpapers, reconciliations, schedules, and other supporting financial information where required.
-Follow established client procedures and learn individual client requirements during onboarding and training.
-Help document workflows and develop practical procedure documents as processes are established.
Communicate clearly with the business owner regarding outstanding information, discrepancies, deadlines, and completed work.
-Maintain confidentiality and exercise care when handling sensitive client and financial information.
