We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business through accurate record keeping, transaction processing, and financial administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, processing routine bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This role is critical in supporting efficient financial management, maintaining compliance with accounting procedures, and providing reliable financial information for business operations.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the kind of person who:
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts regularly.
- Maintain and update general ledger entries and supporting financial records.
- Prepare invoices, monitor outstanding payments, and follow up on receivables as required.
- Assist with payroll preparation and maintain payroll-related records.
- Organize and file financial documents, ensuring records are accurate and accessible.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing required reports and reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, summaries, and other bookkeeping documentation.
- Identify discrepancies in financial records and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and established accounting procedures.
- Maintain compliance with Australian financial regulations, including ATO reporting requirements, BAS/IAS lodgments, and relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain and verify financial information when needed.
Requirements
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Financial Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 1–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, financial record keeping, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
