Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Operations Manager/Blue Prism Platform Manager to lead operational excellence for our Blue Prism RPA platform while managing a shared, cross-platform engineering team operating in a global follow-the-sun model. This role is critical to ensuring service reliability, platform resiliency, compliance, and security across a multi-platform environment.

You will work closely with internal customers / Service Lines, engineering teams, product partners, security and compliance stakeholders, and platform leadership to keep services stable, drive operational improvements, and enable delivery of platform change. In this role, you will balance Run and Change work, support incident and change governance, and help shape a backlog of improvements that strengthen platform performance, supportability, and business value.

This role also offers Product Owner-type opportunities, partnering with OUs and business stakeholders to drive the adoption of the Platform and contribute to platform roadmap discussions.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager is responsible for operational excellence, service governance, and delivery coordination for Blue Prism and assigned cross-platform engineering services. Key responsibilities include:

Platform Operations & Service Reliability

  • Own operational management for the Blue Prism RPA platform and support cross-platform coordination across services such as Retool, Knime, Azure infrastructure, PEGA, ABBYY, and security/compliance-related work.

  • Ensure stable day-to-day operations through effective incident, request, maintenance, and production support management.

  • Be accountable for platform resiliency, service continuity, supportability, and operational excellence.

  • Drive operational readiness for planned maintenance, releases, and production changes.

  • Monitor operational health, identify service risks, and lead improvement actions to reduce instability and recurring issues.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal customers / Service Lines on operational topics related to owned platform areas.

  • Build trusted partnerships with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, priorities, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Communicate service risks, incident impacts, maintenance activities, operational metrics, and recovery plans clearly and effectively.

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Security, Compliance, and Platform Leadership to align operational priorities and delivery outcomes.

Incident, Problem, and Change Management

  • Lead or support operational response for high-severity incidents, including coordination, escalation, communication, and recovery actions.

  • Act as an operational decision-maker for P1/P2 incidents, ensuring clear ownership, strong handovers, and timely resolution across regions.

  • Drive problem management and root-cause follow-up to reduce repeat incidents and improve long-term stability.

  • Validate priority for submitted operational and change items in assigned domains.

  • Approve changes for owned platform areas in line with governance and enterprise standards.

  • Ensure emergency fixes, production changes, and maintenance activities follow required change management controls and documentation standards.

Engineering Team Leadership & Delivery Governance

  • Manage and coordinate a globally distributed engineering team working in a shared operating model across regions and platforms.

  • Support the team in balancing Run work via Kanban and Change delivery via Scrum in a 2-week sprint cadence.

  • Protect engineering capacity while ensuring operational responsiveness and delivery against agreed service commitments.

  • Participate in daily operational governance, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, quarterly planning, and ad hoc prioritization sessions.

  • Ensure open operational work is properly managed through regional transitions and formal end-of-rotation handovers.

Platform Improvement, Security & Compliance

  • Drive initiatives that improve monitoring, automation, supportability, observability, and platform recovery capabilities.

  • Partner with Security and Compliance stakeholders to ensure platforms remain aligned with required controls, remediation activities, and audit expectations.

  • Support vulnerability remediation prioritization and backlog management in partnership with engineering and platform leadership.

  • Maintain a strong operational governance mindset, ensuring documentation, evidence, approvals, and records are complete and audit-ready.

  • Promote standard operating procedures, runbooks, knowledge sharing, and disciplined documentation practices across the team.

    Job Qualifications

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Significant experience in IT Operations, Platform Operations, Production Support, or Engineering Operations roles.

    • Strong hands-on understanding of incident management, problem management, request management, change management, and operational governance.

    • Demonstrated experience working with internal customers and stakeholders to deliver service reliability and operational improvements.

    • Strong understanding of platform resiliency, compliance, security, audit readiness, and operational risk management.

    • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models.

    • Ability to translate operational needs, risks, and business priorities into clear and actionable backlog items.

    • Strong communication, stakeholder management, prioritization, and decision-making skills in fast-moving environments.

    We offer

    • P&G-sized projects and access to world leading IT partners and technologies from Day 1.

    • Wide range of self-development possibilities (training and certifications paths).

    • Competitive starting salary and benefits program (private health care, P&G stock, saving plans, sport cards).

    • Regular salary increases and possible promotions - in line with your results and performance.

    • Opportunity to change role every few years to be in the best place for you and best for P&G.
