Bill Processing (BP) and Workflow Specialist
Responsibilities & Assigned Functions
Reporting to a Supervisor in Medical Services Bill Processing, the Bill Processing (BP) and Workflow Specialist is responsible and accountable for ensuring that medical documents are researched and processed within multiple applications. Timely and accurate processing is vital to ensuring that medical bills are routed to so they can be processed within regulatory time limits. This position also includes processing a limited number of medical bills for payment, providing the opportunity for career progression.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8AM- 5PM (Flexible with hybrid potential once fully trained)
Salary: $41,529 - $48,000 (Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials)
To accomplish this, the BP and Workflow Specialist will:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the workflow(s) of processing documents for both lines of business.
- Review and research documents in multiple systems.
- Update information in systems to ensure medical bills are routed for bill processing.
- Prioritize and balance daily workload.
- Accurately audit and process medical bills within statutory time limits, by following medical coding guidelines and department policies and procedures.
