As a Bilingual Safety and Human Resources Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe job practices and proper use of protective equipment.
  • Investigate and document accidents and near-miss occurrences, identifying trends and implementing corrective measures.
  • Develop and manage safety recognition programs and incentives.
  • Provide safety training to new employees and chair the plant safety committee.
  • Ensure proper training in First Aid and CPR, and manage inventory of safety-related products.
  • Coordinate inspections and visits by safety and health regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor the facility's hearing conservation program and develop alternative work duties for employees on medical restrictions.
  • Maintain communication with management, corporate, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage OSHA 300 log and other required documents, and maintain employee personnel records.
  • Coordinate the use of temporary employees and manage the time & attendance system.
  • Assist employees with paperwork related to benefits, disabilities, FMLA, pay, etc.
  • Perform duties related to recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, orientation, and more.
  • Process new hire paperwork and help with performance reviews and employment change forms.
  • Prepare various reports and maintain files as required.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Qualified in First Aid and CPR, with knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish.
  • Preferred proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
  • Basic math skills for business situations.
  • Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work shifts and hours mandated by management.
  • Ability to work under immediate supervision and pass a drug test.
  • Mobility in the work environment and ability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and other office equipment.
