HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Bidder Specialist, you will oversee the daily bidding processes, acting as the key communicator between vendors, contracts, and internal teams. Your role will involve negotiating pricing, managing purchase orders, and ensuring accuracy in all bid-related tasks. Staying informed on product knowledge, market trends, and competitor strategies is crucial to maintaining our competitive edge. Success requires strong negotiation skills, resilience under pressure, and the ability to foster collaboration across departments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Analyze, evaluate, and administer bids, quotations, and pricing structures.
- Determine competitive pricing strategies aligned with company policies.
- Prepare, sign, and notarize legal documents while ensuring compliance.
- Utilize tools like Excel, SAP, and E-procurement systems to streamline bidding.
- Conduct research on competitors, product catalogs, and historical pricing trends.
- Monitor and assess sales fluctuations to refine bidding strategies.
- Maintain customer loyalty and bid integrity through consistent communication.
- Collaborate with purchasing on product scope and the launch of new items.
- Develop catalog discount strategies and manage semi-annual updates.
- Train new team members and sales staff on bid processes and systems.
- Facilitate vendor relations and evaluate vendor specifications for alignment with company needs.
- Identify and pursue new bidding opportunities, including internet-based bids.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conventions, and bid openings.
- Address customer service, purchasing, and sales issues as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently under pressure.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Extensive knowledge of sporting goods products and market trends.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Adept at adapting to change and motivating others in high-pressure situations.
- Strong understanding of risk management related to legal and bidding documents.

- This job operates in a hybrid environment with four days in an office environment. Largely a sedentary role with the ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for the majority of the shift with breaks as needed following the department’s lunch and break policy.
