About zaimler
AI agents can't reason over data they don't understand. Enterprise data today is fragmented across dozens of systems with no shared context, meaning, or structure, and that's why most enterprise AI is failing. The shift from copilots to autonomous agents is creating an entirely new infrastructure layer, and we're building it.
zaimler is the context infrastructure for the agentic era: a platform that automatically discovers domain knowledge, maps relationships, and gives AI agents the semantic understanding to operate with precision at scale. Imagine knowledge graphs that support real-time inference, built for systems that need to reason, not just retrieve.
zaimler was founded by Biswajit Das (ex-VP Engineering, Truera), a Data Infra veteran and former Chief Architect at Visa, and Sofus Macskassy (ex-Director of Engineering, LinkedIn), who built one of the largest knowledge graphs in production in the industry at LinkedIn. We're growing and deploying with major enterprises across insurance, travel, and technology. If you want to build infrastructure that the next decade of enterprise AI runs on, we'd love to talk.
The Role
Many of our customers already run on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, and they want to query zaimler's context layer directly from the tools their teams already use. We're looking for a BI Engineer to build that bridge: connecting zaimler's query engine to Power BI so customers can serve metrics, dashboards, and natural-language queries directly on top of it.
You'll be exposing zaimler's query layer (including graph queries) in a form that Power BI and similar BI tools can consume, and building the plumbing that lets non-technical business users query zaimler through natural language and familiar BI interfaces.
As the first dedicated BI hire in Bangalore, you'll work closely with zaimler's core query engineering team and directly with customers to shape how this integration works. There isn't an established BI team here yet, so you'll have real latitude to define it, while staying closely connected to engineering counterparts rather than working in isolation.
What you'll do
- Build integrations connecting zaimler's query engine to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Design and implement the query structures needed to serve metrics and analytics from zaimler through BI tools
- Build hooks that let Power BI execute graph queries (e.g., Cypher) against zaimler's platform
- Develop natural-language query capabilities so business users can query zaimler through familiar BI interfaces
- Work directly with customers already on Power BI/Fabric to scope integration requirements and troubleshoot issues
- Partner with zaimler's query engine team to expose the right primitives for BI-tool consumption
What you bring
- Strong, hands-on experience with Power BI, including building integrations or extensions, not just dashboards and reports
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Strong query fundamentals: SQL and/or DAX, and comfort picking up graph query languages (e.g., Cypher)
- Experience working across the boundary between a backend query engine and a BI/reporting tool
- Comfort working directly with customers to scope integration requirements
- Clear, direct communication. This is a founding hire, and communication gaps here are disqualifying
Nice to have
- Experience building custom connectors, plugins, or extensions for Power BI or other BI tools
- Experience with graph databases or graph query languages (Cypher, Gremlin)
- Experience building natural-language query interfaces, especially LLM-backed ones
- Background at a Microsoft-partner consultancy or analytics firm serving enterprise clients
What we offer
- Work alongside engineers and researchers from LinkedIn, Visa, Meta, and Branch
- An onsite, high-collaboration culture designed for deep technical work and fast iteration
- Comprehensive benefits package (health insurance, meals, equipment, and other local perks)
- A founding role shaping how zaimler integrates with the BI tools enterprise customers already use
We value builders over résumés. If this role excites you but you don't check every box, we still want to hear from you.
zaimler is an equal opportunity employer. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
